Portland legislators join Maine's presidential electors

AUGUSTA – Portland legislators Rep. Anne Haskell (right) and Sen. Justin Alfond (left) joined Maine's presidential electors when they convened at the State House on Dec. 15 to cast their ballots to the Electoral College in favor of U.S. Sens. Barack Obama and Joe Biden for president and vice president of the United States.

Maine's electors include Mayor of Portland Jill Duson, Sam Shapiro of Waterville, Robert O'Brien of Peaks Island and Tracie Reed of Portland. Duson, Portland's first black mayor, presided over the vote.
