Register to Vote

Head to City Hall, 389 Congress St., and bring identification and something that proves your current street address to the City Clerk’s office, located on the Second Floor of City Hall all the way at the end of the southwest wing. Here are some examples of accepted identification:


  • Driver’s license with current address (fulfills both requirements)

  • State ID card with current address (fulfills both requirements)

  • Checkbook or bill addressed to the applicant with current address and

  • Social security card

  • Birth certificate

  • Hunting/fishing license
  • If you register by mail, you must include a photocopy of any of the above proof of identity.

    The City Clerk’s office is open 9am-4:30pm M-F

    You may also fill out a green registration card at the Department of Motor Vehicles and several area non-profits, who will then bring it to City Hall for you.
